Been a long time,but I remember somthing about that the steering box arm needed to stick up for one front axle type and down for the other. Not sure if the arm must be removewd from the box to change the arm position,or if you simply remove one end of the drag link and rotate the steering wheel untill the arm is in the correct position.
Check the pictures section in this site,with luck you may find a case tractor with your axle type with a view of the steering linkage position.
