What a mess. I really don't think you want to try and salvage the steel. Good quality steel has temper added at the last finishing stage of the part. Temper makes the steel return to near normal shape once stressed to maximum design. Temper is a form of heat treatment and is applied at about 500� then cooled quickly. To remove temper then you heat above 500� and cool slowly. And were talking a thru and thru heat soak, not just surface temps. So one has to guess which part got 100% thru and thru above 500� or use the part until it quickly wares out.

I would say the oil pan tar pretty much tells you what you have.
