I agree. Diesel fuel has a natural affinity for water, that is, it attracts water. If the fuel tank was not completely full the air space was a natural water condenser. Warm days and cool nights exchanged the air and introduced more moisture into the tank daily. This moisture will corrode and etch the injector pump and everything else over time. Old diesel fuel will burn OK if it is still clean and free of water or other contaminates. The volatiles do not evaporate off nearly as quickly as gasoline.
