I am also amazed at how much society has changed-economically, socially, morally, etc. The tremendous amount of wealth that the average citizen has is remarkable. Case in Point a new dodge commercial showing the benefits of the HEMI engine. We have the ability to chose to invest our resources in an expensive leisure vehicle that is actually towed by another expensive leisure vehicle. If you are on public assistance in this country you are better off economically than 99% of the world population. I believe with great wealth comes greater responsibility and higher economics does not always equate to higher morality. Our houses are bigger, our cars are better, our personal technology levels have increased-yet our culture and moral values are declining at such a rapid rate. We in general have everything, yet respect very little. We have removed God from our value system to the point where going to church is social not spiritual, christian principles are looked up on in a negative way, and tolerance is promoted in schools and our public institutions to the extent that all behavior is good and needs only minor correction. We embrace civil unions, abortions, etc. yet have a hard time understanding our country's lack of respect for human life and existence. We have elevated our own economic/social standing above that of the good of our communities. We lack strong traditional rural values. Of course our country is no longer rural in nature and the agriculture economy has been suppressed to enable political gains by both parties and insurance of wealth building that equates to votes. 10% of our income goes to the grocery. In a market that is safe, reliable, cheap and available. That allows us as a nation to invest our resources in more recreational forms of items. I wonder what will happen if the terrorist ever are able to strike at our food supply and disable a persons ability to obtain their basic needs. In closing thank God for the american farmer and the strong traditional values that built our country.
