Good old boy, when I read your post, the wisest part of all was when you asked whom else could weld it, which tells me that you aren't experienced enough to try. That's a good thing. My brother-in-law deals with LP as well as welding gasses for a living. I'll ask him tomorrow how they deal with tanks. In the mean time, just let it sit in the corner and don't fuss with it. When I was a kid, a neighbor went into the barn by himself to work on his LP Case, and no one's sure exactly what it was he was doing, but it leveled the barn. His daughter found one of his fingers in the yard a couple of weeks later, well after his funeral. I'd guess that tanks can be, and do get repaired, by people that do it for a living. It's too late to call him tonight, and I'm sure that he and my sister are in bed for the night - and they'd better be seperate beds, or I'll deck him, right after I get you an answer.
