O/T Truck Tranny Fulid

Way off subject as I am not even servicing the truck used for hauling tractor but it has towed a tractor before so here goes.

The tranny calls for Dexron II. I changed filter and drained TQ. I had purchased additional fluid to suppliment what I had on the shelf. I could not find Dexron II - but found Dexron III which said on the back suitable for Dexron II and Dexron IIE so this is what I bought.

Once home, I recogized that the oil I had on the shelf says Dexron IIE. No where on the container does it say ok or not ok for just plain Dexron II. Is IIE ok to use??

ps. Every once in a while the old tranny (an 83 AOD FORD)is a little slow locking into 3rd. I usually just back off it locks in and may not do it again for many trips. It has never acted up in 1st, 2nd, or OD. When I removed the pan all was very clean. Thoughts appreciated.
