It's easy. Take all the wires from your old regulator and connect them together. Install the alternator, take both of the wires that were connected to the generator and connect them to the alternator "B" terminal. Connect a wire from the alternator "2" terminal to the alternator "B" terminal, or to the starter soliniod "B" terminal. Connect a wire from the alternator "1" terminal to anything that has 12 volts when the key is on, such as the resistor ahead of the coil. You'll need to put a diode or a resistor in between the "1" terminal and your 12-volt source to prevent backfeeding into the ignition circut. I did a 460 just like this, it worked great.
