These tractors were hard on valves if you didn't keep them in adjustment. We have a 560 and each year I check the valve adjustment. The first year after a major overhaul, the valve clearance had tightened somewhat due to the valves seating. After that, I would check each year but to date, no adjustment has been required. It is going on 25 years without a burnt valve. Keep them adjusted and you will be fine. (After you fix it of course)
