Sounds like a TE to me. Another thing to check is the material of the transmission housing. TO is cast iron whereas TE's used magnesium. Check it with a magnet.
One of the problems I fond on the TE is that there is no way to drain the oil out of the steering box. I drilled and tapped mine for an 1/8 pipe plug in the lower front corner on the left hand side. Good luck with the new toy.
