Ron,
I agree , tractor needs all the weight it
can get unless it is only a parade tractor.
Book learner can give you all the theory but
I farmed for many years in hilly country and
any tractor with air only rear tires was
helpless when trying to back a wagon or other
load up a hill or barn ramp .
Now you say the tractors were not big enough,
in the 50's most were not big enough and those that
were , were not affordable. Fluid was used by
the normal people and weights added by those
who could afford extras.
