Any oil, if it meets JD and Kubota specs, should be all right, at least in theory. Myself, I'm leery of the off brand cheap stuff. You might check with your local JD dealer, the Hy-Gard might be less money than Castrol, and you know it will be the right stuff.
Hy-Gard will be correct for the Kubota, too.
