Mark.......Use standard size log chain or perhaps where your going to shows your H is all prettied up Use tow straps. They are alot less damaging to the paint verses Chain. Use binders on them like you see the flatbed truck drivers use. That will be heavy enough to secure that tractor. Run the first strap around the down steel of the tricycle front and back up the tractor till that is tight. Then drop a hitchpin in the rear hitch of the tractor and run the other strap around that and ratchet the binder down. I'm sure the H has some sort of a brake that can be set on it. Set that afterwards and You should be set for road travel. Not like your trying to haul a 20 ton steiger down the road that you need log chain and binders. As far as a self made loading ramp. You are going to have to experiment as to what angle the H can climb without slipping. I would suggest making it out of steel though. That would guarantee longevity over wood and cheaper insurance that the tractor is not going to fall through going up or down. As to what steel or thickness? Talk to your local welding shop and see what they recommend. That is you best bet. Good luck!!!!!
