Went to Ken Ungers Estate auction last night of 17 JD L's. Saw a a model 62 go for $37,400 (34,000 plus 10 percent buyers premium). I knew green was $green, but that's just nuts. There was a long distance bidder on a cell phone, and the guy who bought the tractor looked like he would have kept going no matter what that phone guy bid. It's an old L. I guess there must be some reasoning there somewhere, but I think you could buy about 20 decent tractors that you can actually hear run before you buy. You got to love America. I thought the rest of the L's went a little cheap, but some of the local farmers were grumblin about the prices, and how useless these tractors were, and why should they sell for so much, etc. All in all it was good theatre. I didn't buy anything. Take Care Steve
