Here's one: I stumbled on a Massey 1130 and a Case Comfort King rotting (makes me sick), but can't figure out (so far) who owns them. They're pictured on this site. I went to that town's village hall asking who owns the pair - they're still trying to help me. But, one of the village trustees tells me he knows of a tractor for sale, and takes me to a retired farmer's house, right smack dab in the middle of town (100'x150' yard). They take me around to two sheds around back, open one up and there sets a 56' VAC that is mint. The old farmer (very proud) rebuilt it, detailing what he did to it, including a 12 VDC conversion and a a brand new Ingersol belly mower for $2500.00. Other than the fronts being about 50%, the tractor is mint and fired "right now". The village trustee told me that the village needs a new tractor for mowing, but because the tractor is "so old", the village won't go out the $2500.00 for the VAC, but instead are going to go out $15,000.00 to $20,000.00 for a new, small Deere. Go figure!?!? I asked the old timer why is selling - he just learned has a bad ticker, was going to donate it to his church, but they don't need it now, so selling. Then, he walked me over to his other shed, and showed me his pride and joy, a Allis D-15 that he'll never sell, because unlike the VAC, he converted it to power steering and can still operate it, even though he probably won't much. That old timer? What a guy to learn from and listen to, but I don't need or want the VAC, I'm after the 1130. Mark - IN.
