Nice truck but municipalities have liability concerns when they use old equipment. A town in MA will be sued because a fireman fell out of a semi-enclosed cab and died.

If your truck had a brake or steering failure using OEM hardware, the town might well have spent the award money on all new equipment and fire houses. It is too late to make friends seconds before the crash.

I have been to your fair several times and it is a nice show.
