Just put a B&W in my 2000 F-350 extended cab dually this spring. I put it at the 46 inch mark for several reasons. Pulling the goosenecks it was going to be very close with the talegate to the front of the trailer when hooking up if I went with the 49 spot. If you are hooking up at an angle instead of streight on this becomes a worse problem. Be sure you check this before putting the ball in. Also with the dual wheel configeration on my truck I wanted more of the weight to the rear for the 4 tires to hold than the two front tires. I am happy with the 46 inch set up on my truck and dont really think I would have liked it as much on the 49 set up. Good luck, it is a great ball system....
