JD Front Wheel Seal

I have a '87 John Deere Model 1050 MFWD. One of the front drive wheel axel seals is leaking. It only leaks when I work it hard or drive down the road at a constant speed for 3-4 miles. I have looked for a vent on the axel housing and found none. I tried running, down the road, with the oil fill plug removed and a rag covering the hole. No leaks. It seems to occur when the oil heats up. JD dealer where I bought it is non-responsive. He only want's to do maintenance and isn't interested in helping me do repairs myself. Unfortionally the next closest dealer is 35mi away. I plan on disassembling the drive hub and see what is wrong, but the lack of a vent still baffels me. Any help?
