Randy, I recently bought a 2544 which is a industrial utility version with a 2000 loader. Mine is a gas motor that dont have sleeves for cylinders and mine is gear drive tranny. It has a column shift that from I have seen is a pain in the tail if not properly maintained and adjusted. I bought mine with the tranny stuck in 3-gears!! I am in the middle to end of a complete engine rebuild. The 544 was made with the diesel engine, hydrostatic tranny or a gear drive tranny with a TA. The 544 was also made in a Farmall that was a row crop tractor. From what I understand the diesel engine is a champ. I bought mine for $450.00 and now have @$2300.00 in it now after going to Case/IH today droping another few hundred. The ball bearing in the governor was $53.55, fork in governor was $67.13 which both are outrageous prices for such small parts. The front axle to bolster pivot pin is $218.00. I have yet to use mine due to the rebuild but think I will be happy with it. I did see a Farmall on Ebay the other day not meet the reserve and end with a bid just under $4000. Good Luck, Kent

The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
