want to add if you have to keep the two 12 volt batteries then you can change the battery wiring from series to parrell and keep the tractor at 12 volts. each battery would need to be grounded seperatly and the positive terminals connected together at one terminal. terminal could be battery or starter or another junction point.
you can get a battery termanal from McMaster Carr that accepts two wires and fits on the battery. Any shop that works on large trucks should be able to make cables or point you to the right place
