#1--The 430 is a generic name for that size model. On the ID tag if it is still there, in the model number, if the 2nd digit is 3 it was built as a diesel engine and if 2nd digit is 4, then the engine was a gas. The 3rd digit was an indication of tractor style, utility, or row crop, or standard, or whatevers. May not have been religiously followed by the factory folks or could have been morphed in the years past.
#2--A good Case dealer can get copies of manuals for that tractor right from Case in Racine. It will be listed somewhere around page 80 to 99 on the list. Farmalls are in the number sequence too so sort it out.
