You are right, the name had to be sold after the Case/New Holland merger. At the KC farm show about 18 months ago I was told by the McCormick guy that these tractors are the old Case "Maxxim" line that used to be produced in Racine. That entire plant was vacated when the name and line were sold and these are now made in England. They are packaged and crated and shipped back to the US. Final assembly for my area is done in Pella, Iowa by the Vermeer company. I suppose they have other US based assembly points. Don't blame Case/NH for this one. The US government said they had to give up rights to some tractor lines to get the New Holland merger approved. I understand they sold the McCormick name, and maybe Farmall also. New Holland no longer has the Ford name. If you think about it this one company would have controlled an enormous amount of all the tractors being built. Maybe it isn't a bad thing?
