Just found that out. I put a decent volt meter on the thing and it is charging at 16.5 volts; wayyyy to much.

Looks like it is regulator time, 'cause it won't charge at all with both those two insulated bolts in there like they should be and voltage at the three terminals checks out okay too.

I suspected that 'cause I remember being taught that to throw 'em to full charge, one would stick a small screwdriver in the "D" hole and ground the lug on the regulator (just what happened when I pulled off that insulator).
