Matthew - It's the resistor that's causing your problem. Depending on it's value it's drawing about 0.2 amps whenever the battery is connected and the alternator is stopped. That's enough to drain down a full battery after a few days.

Easiest fix is to disconnect the resistor from the #2 terminal. Instead feed the resistor directly from the hot (ign switch side) of the coil.

I.e. wiring should be: coil "+" {to} resistor {to} alternator #1. (And leave BAT and #2 jumpered together at the alternator.)

The alternator will still charge and your battery should now stay up!
