Greetings Hendrik! The Universal diesel is a fairly popular sailboat auxiliary here in the US. My dad's boat has one - we've found it to be a very reliable and fuel-efficient powerplant. I believe the base engine is manufactured by in Japan by Yanmar though I'm not certain.
