I don't know if mine has a hydraulic slave cylinder, but I do know that I have never had any trouble. I suspect the salesman was trying to steer you away from the manual trans. because they probably have a lot full of trucks with automatic trans. Naturally they would want to sell you one of those rather than ordering in what you really want. By the way, the truck is a 2001 K3500, 8.1 and 6 spd manual. 28,000 miles.
