I am getting ready to trade my 1/2 ton 2002 Dodge for a 3/4 ton diesel with 6spd. One thing no one has mentioned is transmission life and repair cost. You will not get more than 75,000 out of most autos and they cost at least $4,000 to repair. A new clutch will set you back $600 or less. Every person I know with an auto has paid some major repair bills.
