my previous truck was an F150 with a 5 speed, good truck, hated all the shifting in town. Got rid of it, now an F250 7.3P.S. S.D. 4 speed auto with O.D. Pull an 8000# race car and trailer with tools, pulls great, in every gear, and has a lot of get up and go. Heard a lot of horror stories about Dogge Auto tranny, heard people complain about the allison in chevy, heard compaints about Fords auto, so I guess it is a crap shoot, go for whatever is best for you.my .02 worth. The only drawback to manual is clutch and if you pull heavy loads on hills, it is a real hassle.
