When I was younger, a manual was the only way to go. As I have gotten older, I have realized that with all the incompetent drivers on the road, there are a lot more important things to think about and shifting wasn't one of them! (Plus after one knee operation and one shoulder operation, a truck with a manual transmission would have been on blocks for months as I wouldn't have been able to drive it.)
