I've read different histories that don't all agree with one another, but they're all close. And, Great Britain and India are closely related, historically. I don't remember when the British gave up rule of India. Mahindra is an old and well established company in India. They were hired to make some U.S. military Jeeps during WWII. They formed a partnership with International Harvester in England in the early 60s. The I.H B-250 was built in Car Hill, England. It was modified a bit, and the tooling was transferred to Mahindra in India, and they made B-275s. And the story goes on from there. Today, they are selling modified B-275s new with the Mahindra name. As I've been told, the new tractors use 85% of the original parts from the B-275s. All the parts I've bought in the last couple of years for my B-275 came over the counter from my local Case-IH dealer, but had the Mahindra name on the package.
