A few things - 1) Grey market tractors like yanmars are jap machines made for the jap market, imported here used and abused. They are often repainted for sale in the US. Very little parts and service support. These machines are almost never in the 28-30hp size, more often less than 20hp. 2) All the compact tractors sold in the US are made offshore, or have a majority of components made offshore. The john deere/yanmar relationship still exists even though deere is assembling more and more in georgia. 3) since you need 30hp (i agree with that) I would be looking for an older ford 600-800 or perhaps thousand series, potentially with live pto and lots of torque. For brush hogging there is no replacement for displacement, and a ford will out mow a jap diesel any day of the week. good luck shopping.
