Cub LO-Boy

I have a '62 Cub. It ran great for 5 yrs. When I started to use it this spring, it started to cut out? I thought maybe bad gas? I cleaned the bowl & added fresh gas. Now it won't even juice the lites or click the starter? The battery is only a 2 yr. old "intstate" I only have a 12 volt charger. Hope somebody can tell me why the tractor drained the battery?
