Just read a pleasant little history at their website, http://www.mccormick-intl.com/us/1809_to_present.htm The thumbnail: When Case & New Holland merged, the European Union required they sell the Doncaster, England plant along with the European production & engineering rights to several tractors (50-100hp C, CX, MXC, and MX Magnum). Argo of Spain purchased these assests, and later also bought the St. Dizier transmission plant. So today's McCormick is no longer part of Case-IH/Case-New Holland but is a brand of a totally different company. But McCormick has the right to produce essentially the C, CX, MXC, and MX Magnum tractors as they were in 2000 -- I'm sure as time goes by you'll see more and more differentiation as engineering diverges from the common heritage.
