I felt very much as you do when my brother in law got an older 15hp Kubota 4wd 'tractor'. Was not too impressed with it. But it was stored on the farm over summer, & actually it was pretty useful. They are between a lawn mower & a small older tractor. If he has the money to burn, probably be ok for him. If he has a budget, a lawn mower & an older tractor might get the same accomplished for less money, less depreciation.... Around this discussion group we all probably think of older tractors first. ;) For a view of how people with those subcompacts feel & what they do with them/ uses for them, you might want to wander around www. tractor by net. com (without the spaces). ---->Paul
