Went to a farm auction Sat. 4/24 down in Somers CT. Could not believe the money people were paying for tractors. Old tobacco / potatoe farm with (50+) old tractors: Farmal H's, SuperH's, C's, SuperC's, 656's, 826's, 706's, a 1256, 2 Massey 180's, a 175, a few 135's, a few newer Masseys, and many others. All the H's went for around $3000, most of the C's went for $1600 and up. The bigger diesel tractors and the newer Massey's went more reasonable (for what your getting), in the $4500 to $5500 range. All these tractors were original cond., all rusted, poorly running (the ones that did run), no fenders on all the C's, bad rubber, no batteries, etc. etc. etc. Good restore projects, but needing a lot of work and money. A little Kabota B7100 with 3300+ hrs. on it, not running, flat dry rotted tires, rusty: $2500. Could not believe what people were paying. I guess the demand here in New England is high. Someone actually gave up $175 for an old siezed up 3PH broadcast spreader! I thought I paid too much for my Massey 1130 (100% good working cond.) last year at $3500, but I bet it would have gone for $8000+ at this auction as it's in far better shape than anything there. I guess people from CT have too much money! Felt badly for any poor old farmers that were there trying to pick up some needed equipment having to compete with "hobbiests". I'm not a farmer, but I feel their pain. We'd go hungry aweful quick if it weren't for them struggling to feed the country. Thought I'd pass it on.

The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
