Are you sure this is a D series and nor an S. I don't think they made the DC or SC in 1956
in a Case book I have it says D's 1953 #5750001 1954 #5800001 and gives the S series 1953 #5700001 and 1954 #8035001 these are the beginning serial numbers for those years and does't give ending numbers The DC was replaced by the 400 in 1955. David B
