Pete, the pace tractor should never slow-down.The rope and bouy,is there to show you where you should be.if you fall behind because of speed,then you fall behind.If you increase your speed after you fall behind the flag-man should DQ you!When you having the pace tractor changing speeds that is where the buddy system comes into play too much.The flag-man has a red flag for a reason,and more should not be afraid to use it.
