If you haven't learned what you needed to know from the other responses, you could check out the link below. It is a Ford Truck enthusiast board which has discussion boards broken down to age and type of Ford truck you want to talk about. There seems to be a large number of knowledgeable people there including a couple of dealer service types who know the inside dope on things like recalls, service bulletins, etc. However you will need to register to use the site (username and password, etc). After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
