Coloken, While I feel your pain, almost, I must respectfully disagree with your assessment. Tractors and farming are indeed what we are all about, but we are also all about freedom and liberty, which, I'm sure you must admit, is being threatened. If you look at some of the O.T. threads, I'm sure you will agree that they create much interest, and sometimes seemingly endless replies, even though we don't always agree. Some of the people who frequent this site have little outlet outside this site to vent their frustrations or concerns, or, voice their opinions or point of view, which by the way I find to be one of the most wonderful web sites on the internet. Unlike many of the other sites in which the language becomes downright vulgar, this site is kept clean to the point to where people can voice their thoughts without censorship of content. I have friends and acquaintences here who I respect greatly even though we may debate an issue, tractors or otherwise. This is not unlike a bunch of guys sitting around the grain elevator or feed store discussing the same things being discussed here. Those guys dont always discuss farming, and they certainly don't always agree. I will submit to you, that if you feel uncomfortable with someone elses point of view, that you are unsure of your own and don't want it challenged. I welcome debate, as it does a couple things for me, either it substantiates and validates my point of view, or it makes me aware of someone elses and in some cases, causes me to realize that his has more merit than mine. I have never seen anyone get out of hand debating an issue here on Y.T. even though some of the debates have gotten rather heated. To think that politics and religion have no influence on farming and that they are not connected in some ways is short sighted in my opinion. It would be easy for me to say at this point that if you dont like the O. T. threads, then dont participate, and go on to bigger and better things, but thats not how I think. I would love to hear your point of view on a few things. To do so is to know you better. Frequently, I see an O.T. plea for prayer. It may be for someones health, life situation, or for safe return of our sons and daughters from harm's way. I would hate to see their pleas deleted or denied from this forum just because it may be O. T., and I think you would too. My comments here are open to debate, and differing opinion, including yours, Ken.

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In our previous article we discussed capscrews, bolts, and nuts along with their relative hardness and thread sizes. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and ... [Read Article]
