I had a simular problem, may symptons were an intermittent snapping, fast re-cycling of the pump (turn on a tap and the tank pressure went low fast the pump would come on, build pressure fast, then repeat about every 7 seconds while the tap was on or flush). My submersible is 220-240v, I took the control box off (just pulls out) and took it to an electrical co they changed the capasitor and something (can't remember the name of it) else that wasn't included in the one at the hardware store. $ 85.00 + $35.00. Then I re-set the Air Pressure and High - Low Limits as per instructions on the tank. p.s. I was told if I left it snapping it would have damage the pump. Hope this helps.
