fred the oak in my part of the country is a bunch stronger than pine. We refloor equipment trailers with 1" oak and it last the life of the trailer without breaking a board. I've bought trailers with 5/4 and 2 by PT pine and it always breaks between the cross members. What don't break is rotted out in 4-5 years at best.
