I know people who complain they got ripped off with everything they buy around here, and I know theres gotta be alot more of them around the world. I have sold alittle bit of stuff and even though I try to be totally honest with what the item is I'm selling, I still get people who change their mind and complain I ripped them off. Perfect example: I sold an engine to a guy who wanted to buy it and asked me if I would sell it, and I said yes. He then agreed to a price and paid me off in payments over the course of last summer. After he finished paying for it and picked it up, he complained that it was junk and wanted his money back. He claimed it wasn't useable (a complete engine that had lots of compression). Come to find out he had taken it home and broke a bunch of stuff off from it and then he wanted his money back. I told him no, that he now owned it, I think he's still pretty sore with me over that and I'm sure telling people I screwed him. He had also been told he had paid too much by his mechanic friend, now he had came to me and wanted to buy it and it wasn't nothing I had for sale or anything, nor did I force a price on him. I named a price and he agreed to it. He even came back and complained about the water pump being bad and some of exaust manifold bolts came out hard. He had originally bought it for parts, because he wanted the crank out of it. He knew what it was because he came and looked at it a bunch of times before he bought it and I told him what I knew. Some people are like that, unless it's something they get for free they will be complaining when it breaks down 6 months later etc...

Up to about 1958 the dairy cows were fed hay with some turnips and after that grass silage was the main winter feed. That same year was the last in which flax was grown on the farm. Flax provided the fibre which w
