I get no spam at all. I also never enter any of the "Win a Free $100,000 Chrome Gizmo" things that pop up all over the place. You should never respond to a "click here to remove from the mailing list". Before I retired, I dealt with the email that came as a respone to our email address that was at the bottom of every one of our ~15,000 web pages. We got a couple of spams/day. While I was on vacation, the guy who was filling in for me hit the "take me off the list button" on a few of those. Instantly the spam increased to 20/day. Somewhat like the increase in junk snail-mail that happens when you let a magazine subscription lapse. Since you are no longer a customer, they really don't care if you get upset with them for selling your name.
