I think that you are certain to be looking at an J I Case plow.The swivel arraingment you discuss was a feature in their line of implements that were designed for use with the Eagle Hitch three point hitch system.Eagle Hitch draft arms were (are)rigid.Therefore allowed no lateral movement of the plow.Thus the swivel allowed for less strain on the tractor and implement. Case stayed with their system up to about early 1960's to the best of my recollection.As I understand it the Case Co. refused to pay Harry Ferguson a royalty to use his swinging draft arm system ,so stayed with their own design until the patent expired.
