Ivan, There is limited information on old Caterpillar tractors. There is a Caterpillar tractor collector site, and yet the information there is left wanting. I have spent hours on end trying to gather info myself as I have always been enrapt with Caterpillars as my Grandfather had a model RD-4 and I loved riding it as a small kid, and later operating it. Most of the info I come up with is for more recent models, and construction equipment. There are a couple of books out there, but I don't know where to get one. I hope you have better luck than I have had in your pursuit, because Caterpillar has such an illustrius heritage. I spend most of my time in the Farmall forum, but I have stated there from time to time that my all time favorite tractor was and will always be the older Cats. My lifelong friend just bought a Cat Challenger 45 last year and he let me drive it and while I was impressed, nothing could replace the feeling I got when I drove that old RD-4.
