The only thing I know for certain regarding your questions is that the 460 was produced from 1958 to 1963. The 460 is a descendant of the 300/350. I think the 504 appeared in 1961 and production ended in 1968. The 504 is the descendant of the 340. From what I've read, the 340 began an entirely new design. That is not to say the 340 doesn't share some of the same chassis parts as its bigger brother of the series, the 460. The 460 is longer than the 504 mostly due to the length of the 460's 6-cylinder motor. Some one else will have to add to this information. We have both a 460 and 504m and the 504 is noticably shorter. The 504 has roughly 5 less HP than the 460.
