The small NH tractors under the 1900's came
with hydraulics that had "position control" it
held the rear implement at a set height
compared to the rear of the tractor. The option
was "draft control in addition" this allowed the
tractor maintain traction for movement by
lifting the implement when a ground
engauging implement ( land plow ) hit a area
of more difficult to handle soil and lower it
again when the going got easier.
Draft control is what the 9Ns & 2Ns had.
Position control came with draft control on the
8Ns and newer "old tractors"
