I run a fuels and lubes testing lab. We see a lot of biodiesel fuels. Cranola oil is used heavily and has a cetane rating of around 50. The biggest problem with the Bio Fuels is that they lack oxidation stability. They are okay to use , but unless treated with a stability agent, they tend to oxidize quickly in a tank. This then results in the creation of heavy byproducts that don't flow well in the fuel system. One way around it is to blend it with ethanol to decrease the viscosity though. Bio lubes are well establihed also. For what it is worth.
