Take the oil cup off, and then set the entire unit in a bucket, fill the bucket with diesel fuel or solvent, and let it sit for a couple of days. Pull the air cleaner out, set it somewhere and let it drain, then blow it dry with compressed air. You may want to agitate things a bit while it is in the bucket.
