On MFD units, check to see there is oil in the front axle center section and there is no leak at the front axle's rear center pivot. Check the front planetaries, too. Front axle repairs get VERY spendy very quickly. If it has the 8x8 mechanical shuttle, be sure the forward and reverse synchronizer allows shifting without grinding.
