That orange wire would not be for the channel idicator. That should be powered by the red wire. Does the orange wire have a fuse inline? Worst case scenerio, call you nearest Radio Shack, and ask them to look it up for you. They should be able to get you a copy of the owner's manual, or at least direct you as to how to get one.
